West Texas A&M University recognizes and appreciates the diversity of faculty roles and responsibilities within the University. This diversity adds richness and depth to the educational programs of the University and the support that the University provides to the region, state and nation. The University must be responsive to the variety of these contributions in the evaluation of faculty for promotion and/or tenure. The full guidelines for third year review as well as promotion and tenure can be found in the faculty handbook. However, the links below can help candidates as they prepare their materials for third year review or promotion and tenure.
Each year, the office of Academic Affairs holds an informational meeting for faculty members who anticipate turning in materials for third year review, promotion and tenure or promotion to full professor. Below are links to a recording of the latest meeting held on April 17, 2019. Additionally, there are links to the PowerPoint and a handout used in the presentation. Please note, on the PowerPoint and handout, there are some proposed changes to the Faculty Handbook that will be approved and published in August 2019. If you are turning in materials in Fall 2019, these changes will be in place and you should plan for that now as you prepare your materials. If you have questions, feel free to contact Academic Affairs and/or your direct supervisor.
