Database Highlight:
Sage Journals and Springer Nature Link

We offer access to two powerful research databases that support a wide range of disciplines across campus. Sage Journals provides full-text access to more than 860 peer-reviewed journals covering criminology, psychology, sociology, health sciences, humanities, education, business, and management, with coverage from 1999 to the present. Springer Nature Link (previously SpringerLink) complements this content with approximately 1,200 peer-reviewed journals focused on mathematics, physics, and engineering. Published by a major European publisher, Springer Nature Link... includes some journals in languages other than English, with coverage generally dating back to the mid-1990s.

To make the most of these resources, a few search strategies can help streamline your research. In Sage Journals, using wildcards and truncation symbols (*) can broaden your search and uncover related terms. Springer Nature Link searches differently by default, so switching to the articles by text option allows for effective keyword searching. Users can search by all words, exact phrases, or Boolean logic across multiple fields, such as author, title, abstract, or full text, and then sort the results by recency or relevance. Advanced options make it easy to filter by publication date or specific journals, and Springer Nature Link also supports browsing by publication, publisher, or subject areas like chemical sciences, computer science, and economics. Keep in mind that truncation and wildcards are not supported in Springer Nature Link.

Both databases are available through the library's database portal. If you need assistance, contact the research desk or watch the video guide created by Librarian Nancy Stanwood to get started quickly and confidently.
