Extreme Wi-Fi 6

Network technology has been progressing at lightning speed in the past decade or so, and Wi-Fi technology is not exempt from these advancements. As use of mobile devices continues to grow, the need for faster and better technology to keep up with the advancements has grown with it. One of the recent leaps in this sector has been Wi-Fi 6. Wi-Fi 6, is technology which doubles the channel width and creates a faster connection from the router to your wireless device.

EXTREME WI-FI 6 at WTAMU

WTAMU's I.T. department deployed Extreme Wi-Fi 6 in the summer of 2019 at the new Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium. The 8,500 seat stadium, which opened its doors to Buff nation in September 2019, is a top of the art football facility that is one of its kind in Division II football. A facility of this kind deserved an equally impressive wireless technology to complement it, and give Buff supporters a one of a kind game day experience. Thus, in came Wi-Fi 6 technology powered by ExtremeMobility™. The Wi-Fi network at the stadium is even more unique as it was setup by and deployed by WT students, with the supervision of WTAMU's I.T. department. The implementation of this network provided a unique learning experience for WT students who were able to get invaluable real world experience.

How to Connect

Wi-Fi at the Bain-Schaeffer Buffalo Stadium is free to access for stadium patrons during football games. To connect to the GoBuffsGo Wi-Fi:

Turn your device's Wi-Fi on and locate the GoBuffsGo SSID

Connect to the network and enter your email address when prompted

Click connect

Open your web browser and try to connect to a website e.g. wtamu.edu

Having Trouble?

If you are having trouble connecting to the GoBuffsGo Wi-Fi network:

Make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on

Disconnect any other Wi-Fi connections before attempting to connect

Disable any VPN applications you may have running
