Statement

The University data centers, and other critical processing areas have a water shut-off valve if applicable.

Applicability

This Control applies to all West Texas A&M locations that house information systems (e.g., data centers, server rooms, networking/telecom closets) considered mission critical or require a higher level of security due to the nature of equipment or data the equipment stores. 

Implementation

WTAMU protects data center information systems from damage resulting from water leakage by providing master shutoff or isolation valves that are accessible, working properly, and known to key personnel within the facilities department (SSC).
