Statement

WTAMU employs and maintains fire suppression and detection devices/systems for the facilities housing information systems.

Applicability

This Control applies to all West Texas A&M locations that house information systems (e.g., data centers, server rooms, networking/telecom closets) considered mission critical or require a higher level of security due to the nature of equipment or data the equipment stores. 

Implementation

• WTAMU deploys appropriate fire suppression equipment to protect the University facilities in the event of a fire.
• Designated employees receive training in appropriate response and use of fire suppression equipment in case of such emergencies.
