Statement

West Texas A&M University will maintain an alternate storage site for storage of information resource backups that should not be subject to the same impact from a disaster as the primary University site.

Applicability

This Control applies to all West Texas A&M information resources. The intended audience for this Control includes all information resource owners, custodians, and users of information resources.

Implementation

An alternate storage site has been established at the Harrington Academic Hall in Amarillo. This site provides appropriate geographical separation as to reduce the susceptibility to the same disruptive event.
This site shall be equipped with the same environmental monitoring and physical controls as the University data center.
IT site shall maintain appropriate server hardware and telecommunications connectivity to allow this site to facilitate timely and effective recovery operations.
