AT-1 Awareness and Training Controls

Overview

The purpose of this control is to provide a set of measures that will mitigate information security risks associated with Security Awareness and Training. There may also be other or additional measures that department heads or deans will provide to further mitigate risks.

Purpose

To develop, adopt or adhere to a formal, documented security awareness and training program and procedure that addresses purpose, scope, roles, responsibilities, management commitment, coordination among organizational entities, and compliance.

Scope

The scope of these regulations and procedures are applicable to all information resources owned or operated by West Texas A&M University. All users are responsible for adhering to these regulations and procedures.  Information regarding roles, responsibilities, management commitment, and coordination among organizational entities are embedded within these procedures.

Regulations and Procedures

A Security Awareness training program shall be implemented and delivered in accordance with Texas Government Code 2054.519.  Specific implementation guidance is stated in Control AT-2 Security Awareness and Training.
