PAPER PRESENTATION GUIDELINESAn oral presentation of a research paper on any academic topic is to be presented during the conference. The presentation cannot exceed 12 minutes in length, and the use of visual aids, including PowerPoint, is welcome, but not required. To present a paper, you should submit an abstract of 200 words or less at the WT SRC conference registration website. You will be contacted with the time and place of your presentation after registration has closed. WRITING COMPETITION GUIDELINESPapers not strictly adhering to the stated guidelines will be excluded from the cash award competition. The paper must primarily reflect the student’s work (rather than the work of a faculty member). Advisors and coauthors will be contacted to ensure this. If this paper has already been published, the student must be the sole author or the primary author with other students as coauthors. Published papers with faculty members as coauthors cannot be entered in the Writing Competition. The paper's abstract must be submitted through the WT SRC conference registration website indicating that the submission is for the Writing Competition as well as the Paper Presentation portions of the conference. The student will email their final paper in pdf. format, with only the author identified on the title page to Dr. Pamela Lockwood, src@wtamu.edu. Papers competing for the cash award must also complete an oral presentation. Power points or other presentation software are permitted but not required. The final score for the submitted paper will be based on a rubric score for the research paper and a rubric score for the oral presentation. You will be contacted with the time and place of your presentation after registration has closed.
