Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Program
Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Teacher Certification Option:
The Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (Grades 6-12) Teacher Certification degree is a bridge program between the Department of Agricultural Sciences and the Department of Education.
As an Agriculture major, your degree plan will include University core requirements, department core requirements, agricultural science core requirements, and major requirements specified under each degree option and total 120 semester credit hours. Students must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) for all courses at WTAMU counted toward the degree. In addition, students in the teacher certification option of the agriculture major must meet professional development standards set by the Department of Education such as required classes, student teaching, and teacher certification exams.
Requirements for licensure and/or certification vary from state to state. Our programs prepare students for licensure and/or certification in the State of Texas. We do not represent that our programs prepare students for licensure and/or certification in other states.
Non-Certification Option:
The Agriculture Non-Certification degree plan allows the student more freedom to choose which classes they would like to take due to the required 18 hours of Agricultural Electives. As an Agriculture major, your degree plan will include University core requirements, department core requirements, agricultural science core requirements, and major requirements specified under each degree option and total 120 semester credit hours. Students must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) for all courses at WTAMU counted toward the degree. At lease 36 hours must be earned from upper level (3000 or 4000) level courses.
