Leadership and special talent are considered
Over $8 Million in Annual Awards

West Texas A&M University awards approximately $8 million each year in scholarships to new and continuing students, with the average award totaling $1,500 per year. Students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and special talent are considered for University scholarships. Financial need may be a consideration.

Apply for Scholarships

Submit the scholarship application to be considered for all awards.  The application is available year round, but the priority date is Feb. 1st for the upcoming year for full consideration of awards across the University.

Freshman Scholarships

December 1st is the early action date for incoming freshman. Students who have submitted the required information upon admission will be awarded no later than May 1st.  The priority date is February 1st to complete the scholarship application.  After this date, departmental scholarships will start being awarded. Scholarships are awarded based on availability of funds.

Incoming Transfer, Graduate Or Continuing Student Application

The priority date for all University scholarships is Feb.1.  Awards will be made based on the availability of funds.

Priority Date Feb. 1, 2024.

Summer Scholarships

Awards for undergraduate students for the summer are made based on the availability of funds.  Contact Scholarship Services beginning in April to get your name on the list.
