How to Register

Registration is the selection of classes and arrangement for payment of tuition and fees by the appropriate deadline. Students may register and check their current class schedule through Buff Advisor or Student Planning. Regulations governing course selection, pre-requisites, course load and admission requirements are published in the WTAMU catalog or can be obtained from your academic department.

Registration Dates

2019 Winter Intersession (2019JAN) and Spring (2019SP) Registration

Registration for the 2019 Winter and Spring semesters will open by classification:

Thursday, November 1 2018: All current and newly admitted Graduate students  at 8 am

Friday, November 2, 2018: All current and newly admitted Seniors and groups with early registration privileges at 8 am *

Monday, November 5, 2018: All current and newly admitted Junior at 8 am *

Thursday, November 8, 2018: All current and newly admitted Sophomores at 8 am *

Monday, November 12, 2018: All current and newly admitted Freshmen at 8 am *

* Newly admitted students must complete Orientation prior to being allowed to enroll.  Information on orientation can be found at

2019 May Intersession (2019MAY) and 2019 Summer (2019SU1, 2019SU2) Registration

Registration for the 2019MAY, SU1 and SU2 semesters will open for all students on Monday, December 3.  Registration for these semesters will remain open until May 14 for 2019MAY, June 4 for 2019SU1 and July 11 for 2019SU2.

NOTE:  Students who are enrolled will be expected to submit a withdrawal from the University if their plans change.  There will be no deletions for nonpayment and students will be responsible for their university tuition/fee/room/board charges unless they withdraw prior to the first class day.  The Withdrawal Form can be found at the Forms link on the right side of this page.

Process for Currently Enrolled Students and Admitted Students

  1. Contact your adviser for an appointment. You must be advised for each semester prior to being given access to register.
    • Freshmen and Sophomores: see the  Advising Services website for details on the advising model for your major, Student Success Center, HUB.
    •  Juniors and Seniors: see your academic adviser in the department of your major
    • Graduate Students: see your graduate adviser in the department of your major
  2. Your adviser will "Green Light" you, which does not constitute registration. You must follow-up and register at the appropriate time. Deadlines will be enforced, so make payments on time. Consult Buff Advisor message board for dates.
  3. Financial aid is applied once you accept your aid, even if you are not attending classes.
  4. Bills are not mailed but will be posted on Buff Advisor. An email notification will be sent to your WTAMU assigned student email address.
