Tina Carpenter holds the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University, Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music, and the Doctor of Music from Florida State. In addition to her duties at WTAMU, Dr. Carpenter serves as principal bassoon with the Amarillo Symphony, the Randel Chamber Orchestra, the Amarillo Opera Orchestra and Chamber Music Amarillo as well as being an active recitalist and clinician in the southwest.
Dr. Carpenter has performed extensively in the United States and Canada and has appeared on past programs of the International Double Reed Society, the International Society of Bassists, and the Texas Music Educators Association conferences. She has performed with the orchestras of the Cullowhee Music Festival and the Victoria (TX) Bach Festival. She has also been heard as a soloist on National Public Radio's "Performance Today."
