Opportunity Grant Program for WT Students

We understand that this continues to be a difficult and uncertain time for our WT community. We are here to help and want to remind you of the Opportunity Grant Program, a financial assistance program available to students.
Please review the criteria for this grant and submit an application if you have been impacted and think you may qualify.

  • Must be a Texas resident and an undergraduate student
  • Must have a FAFSA on file with an income between $40,000 and $100,000 (Email contact below will verify). This grant is designed to aid students who are not Pell eligible, hence the income threshold.

Grants can be given for up to the full cost of attendance for a semester and are renewable. Grants can also be awarded for summer terms.
A simple one-page application can be filled out quickly. Applications are reviewed once received and a response is generated as quickly as possible.
If you think you may qualify or have questions, please email Tamara DeSpain at, include Buff ID.
If you need financial assistance or have had an unforeseen change in financial status, but do not meet the criteria of this program, please contact us as we may have other assistance programs available.
