Design Your Life Alumni Mentor Program

Having a mentor in college, especially one in the career field you hope to go into or who has studied what you are studying, can be so impactful on a student exploring their opportunities.

This program is designed to assist students in developing their character, career exploration, academic and professional skills, and social responsibilities. This is a formative time in their lives. Identifying where one’s personal interests meet their professional interests is helpful as they develop their career path and plans.

In congruence with the mission of West Texas A&M University and the offices of Career and Professional Development and the Alumni Association, the Design Your Life Alumni Mentor Program will provide students with the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into career paths or majors they are interested in through informational interview/career conversation with their mentors, as well as by hearing the mentor’s stories and experiences.

We are looking for students that are at least a sophomore in standing, have at least a full academic year left, and are eager to invest in a relationship that will make a lasting impact on their personal and professional career.

WT Alumni Mentors are making a huge impact on the lives they connect with. But in addition to that, they are being impacted as well. One of our mentors realized this very early on in their relationship with their mentee.
