Summer 2021 Staff & RA Positions

  • Applications will be available beginning Monday, April 5 and closes Wednesday, April 14 at 4:59 p.m.

Selection Process Timeline

We offer a limited number of interview spots. Once all interview availability has been filled, we will maintain a list of applicants. If new spots open up, you will be contacted with an offer for an interview.

Only qualified candidates will participate in the interview process. Candidates will be contacted via WTAMU email or telephone regarding interview times and locations.

*NOTE: Not all candidates will receive an interview.

Offer letters sent to candidates via WTAMU email (stating either offer with placement, or no offer)

Position Qualifications

Residential Living seeks candidates who enjoy working in a community setting and fostering a living/learning community. Applications will not be accepted, or interviews scheduled, for anyone not meeting the below criteria. Applicants must:

  • Attend mandatory staff training the week before the Summer I term begins if selected.
  • Grade Point Average:
    • Summer Resident Assistants must possess a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) the long semester prior to applying (fall), as well as the semester prior to being employed (spring).
    • Summer Staff are not required to possess a minimum grade point average (GPA).
  • Summer Enrollment is not mandatory, but is encouraged.
  • Preferably, be a resident at least one semester prior to being employed.

Summer Position Descriptions

Summer Staff Job Description Summary
Summer Staff members will live in an assigned residence hall for the summer. Staff members are not required to be enrolled in summer courses, but are encouraged.  These staff members will assist in the operation of the hall and Residential Living over the summer. Due to the current Covid policies in place at WT, this position will remain flexible in nature and will be utilized to best serve the department in its summer capacities. These duties may include:

  • Working desk hours
  • Performing duty rounds and having night duty responsibilities
  • Checking summer camp/campers and other guests in and out of the residence halls
  • Preparing the residence halls for camps (may include movement of mattresses and other items)
  • Providing tours of the residence hall during student orientations and other University events
  • Other duties as assigned by Residential Living and the Hall Coordinator


Summer Resident Assistant Job Description Summary

Summer RA staff members will live in an assigned residence hall for the summer. Resident Assistant staff are not required to be enrolled in summer courses, but are encouraged. These staff members will assist in the operation of the hall. Duties will include:

  • Working desk hours
  • Performing duty rounds and having night duty responsibilities
  • Checking summer residents in and out of the residence hall
  • Developing community through relationship-building and hall programming for the summer residents
  • Providing tours of the residence hall during student orientations and other University events
  • Other duties as assigned by Residential Living and the Hall Coordinator
