WT Theatre Presents "Songs For a New World"

CANYON, Texas—The theatre program at West Texas A&M University presents “Songs For a New World” running this month at the Happy State Bank Studio Theatre in the Sybil B. Harrington Fine Arts Complex.

Written by Jason Robert Brown, "Songs For a New World" traverses space and time from a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to the ledge of a Fifth Avenue high rise. The show includes an array of characters connected by a theme of a moment of decision, in which characters experience life, love, failure, new beginnings and more. With a mixture of pop, jazz, gospel and country in a laid-back atmosphere, audiences delight in a musical journey that lies somewhere between musical and revue.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday Sept. 12-14 and 19-21 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday Sept. 15 and 22. The show is rated PG-13 and tickets are available through the Box Office at 806-651-2804.
