CANYON, Texas — Three West Texas A&M University seniors will present a diverse array of art in a new exhibition opening Dec. 4.

Seniors Rachel Dixon of Canyon, Victor Granadoz of Wellington and Helen Garcia of Amarillo will display works in the Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Show, the final requirement for studio art majors in pursuit of their degrees, said Jon Revett, associate professor of painting and drawing.

“This year has been one of the most challenging and we are proud of our students for pulling through and making great work,” Revett said. “This show also highlights the diversity of the WT Art Program because it features several different styles of art: geometric abstract paintings, figurative ink drawings, and contemporary ceramic work.”

The show will be on view through Dec. 18 in the Dord Fitz Formal Gallery in Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall. It also will be on view in 2021 in Amarillo National Bank Plaza II, 500 S. Taylor St.

Fitz Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through Dec. 11, then by appointment.

A commitment to the arts and humanities is a pivotal piece of the University’s long-term plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World.
