Tuition, fees, room and board may be paid on a deferred payment plan during the Fall and Spring semesters only. Student accounts not paid in full, and without a current payment plan may be administratively enrolled and charged a $35 fee.
Terms of the Payment Plan Agreement
Withdrawal may not relieve the student of financial obligation for payment of tuition and fees. Failure to pay does not mean automatic withdrawal. Please contact the registrar’s office for proper withdrawal procedures. Refunds for withdrawals are calculated on total amount of tuition and fees not on amount paid. Please contact the business office for questions regarding payments and refunds. A student must withdraw prior to the first class day of the semester to be eligible for 100% credit. Withdrawals submitted on or after the first class day of the semester will be credited on a graduated percentage basis depending on when the withdrawal was submitted (starting at 80% and decreasing from there.)
Expenses incurred in collecting the amounts due under this agreement - including but not limited to collection fees, attorney fees, and court costs - will be the responsibility of the student.
If I fail to make payment as specified, I will be held responsible for any and all collection costs in addition to the required payment.
WTAMU offers short-term emergency loans to eligible students who find that their anticipated payment method is delayed but still expected.
Emergency loans for tuition and fees are available beginning 10 to 12 days before the first payment deadline, and are available until the 20th class day for Fall and Spring, 4th class day for summer sessions, and 2nd class day for intersessions. Loans are due in full within 90 days for the Fall and Spring semesters, and 45 days for all other terms.
A confirmation number will be shown on the last screen when the loan application is completed. All applicants will receive an email in their Buff email account 1 to 2 business days after applying giving the status of their application.
Interest begins accruing when the loan is applied to the student's university balance as a payment at the rate of 5% annually. The maximum amount for tuition and fees is $2500, or total charges for mandatory tuition and fees if the total is less than $2500.00.
Students may apply for an Emergency / Short Term Loan of up to $2500 per semester. You can request a loan while awaiting financial aid to post, scholarships to be applied or any other payments that will come in.
Follow these easy steps:
Loans are for either 45 (Summer and intersession) or 90 days (Fall and Spring). The interest and fees are minimal; 5% for tuition and fee and 12% for book loans. For example, a $1,500 loan for up to 90 days incurs roughly an additional $18 for a tuition and fee loan.
