Michael Longhofer’s MFA Exhibition entitled “ Inversion” is about the exploration of the figure-ground relationship. His paintings play on the traditional relationship between the subject of a painting and the environment in which they exist. While his subjects are still live models, he project images on to them thus inverting the relationship between the figure and the ground. He photographs the results which become the source for his paintings. This show is the result of his two year investigation of unique interpretations of figurative painting, and will be up during the entire summer in the Mary Moody Formal Gallery on the campus of West Texas A&M University.

The gallery will be open by appointment all summer, except for July 10-22, when closed for band camp. Contact Jon Revett in the WT Art Department at 806-651-2792 or jrevett@wtamu.edu.
