Among the study abroad programs offered, faculty-led programs are of particular importance to WTAMU's mission and goals for the future. Faculty-led study abroad programs are developed and offered through a partnership between academic departments and colleges and the Office of Study Abroad (OSA).

Interested in leading a course abroad?

Professors may submit proposals for Faculty-Led Programs or Site Visit Grants to become involved in study abroad. Deadlines and proposal forms are listed below. Faculty interested in leading programs abroad are also encouraged to review the Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad. Faculty-Led Programs

The Study Abroad Program and Procedure Committee reviews proposals for faculty-led programs twice a year. Proposals must be submitted by the following deadlines:
  • For Spring, May or Summer programs: September 1st
  • For Fall or Winter programs: April 1st

Site-Visit Grants

Three grants of up to $3,000 each are available annually for faculty interested in making a site visit with the purpose of determining if a specific destination is appropriate for a faculty-led program. To apply, please complete and submit the proposal form below:

The deadline for site visit grant proposals is October 15th. The Study Abroad Program and Procedure Committee will review proposals and notify applicants by November 5th. Site visits must occur within twelve months from date of notification.
