Greetings all,

There are lots of blanks that remain to be filled in, but here’s what I can share at this point:

First, some clarity.  The university plans to resume classes on Wednesday, March 25.  The School of Music will resume classes on Monday, March 30th allowing extra time for faculty and staff to handle the unique challenges in implementing an online migration for music courses.

MUSI/MUMI/HUMA – courses will all move online.  Look for more information from your instructors after spring break.

MUAP – to the extent possible, lessons will move online.  However, if both faculty member and student are comfortable with face-to-face and adhere to social-distancing protocols, studio lessons can continue in person.  More on recitals/hearings/juries soon – we’re working on ways to allow these capstone projects such as recitals to be completed, even if they are not made public.

MUEN – course meetings post-spring break are canceled.  All concerts/recitals for these ensembles are canceled.

The latest WTAMU information can be found here:

I appreciate your patience and flexibility as we try to navigate instructions from the university and system.

Regards,

Mark Bartley

Associate Director, School of Music
