Jeremy Lewis teaches applied lessons to all tuba and euphonium majors at West Texas A&M University, performs as tubist with Brass West brass quintet, is the principal tubist with the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, and is a proud Miraphone Performing artist and clinician.
Before WT, Jeremy worked as a private teacher and clinician in North Texas. He earned degrees from Texas Christian University, Indiana University, and Texas Tech University. Jeremy has performed with orchestras throughout the United States.
Additionally, Jeremy is active with Brass West, performing engagements around the world. Most recently, the quintet presented five performances in Italy including the Festival Internazionale di Musica Cinque Terre. Other recent activities with the quintet include regular appearances around the Texas Panhandle in elementary schools as part of the Window on a wide World educational outreach program.
Jeremy is successful as a soloist making appearances at venues across the country. Recent solo performances include Laredo, TX; Waco, TX; Austin, TX; Lubbock, TX; and Ft. Worth, TX. He has performed and/or presented during the 2019 International Euphonium-Tuba Festival, 2016 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference (ITEC) in Knoxville, TN; ITEC 2014 Bloomington, IN; regional tuba-euphonium conferences throughout the country; and hosted the 2018 South Central Regional Tuba-Euphonium Conference. Recent presentations include ITEC 2016, the Texas Bandmasters' Association, and the Texas Music Educator's Association.
Jeremy has been successful as a solo competitor, earning recognition at the regional, national, and international levels. Jeremy also writes the biweekly Tuba Tuesday Newsletter and TuBlog, produces the Jeremy Lewis Tuba YouTube channel, and maintains www.JeremyLewisTuba.com. He performs exclusively on the Miraphone 1293 CC tuba and 1281 “Petruschka” F tuba.
