Mission Statement
The Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities fosters and preserves the art and skill of human thought and expression. Through teaching, research, creative activity, performance, and professional service, we advocate for the importance and the relevance of the fine arts and humanities. The College is dedicated to the development of tomorrow's leaders through technology-rich, academically rigorous educational programs and empowering co-curricular experiences at the undergraduate level. The College enhances the quality of life of the region and advances excellence through high impact experiences that engage students with the community.
Accreditation
West Texas A&M University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges or SACSCOC, a regional agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. This is the highest accreditation a university can receive and signifies that WTAMU has "a purpose appropriate to higher education and the resources, programs and services sufficient to accomplish and sustain that purpose."
