Professional Profile
Dr. Jackson is originally from Canadian, Texas. He joined the WTAMU faculty in fall 2007. He has a bachelor's degree in math and chemistry from Wayland Baptist University and a master's degree and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University. He was a senior member of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M. before coming to WTAMU.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Jackson teaches statics and works as a faculty mentor with several students on research projects. He is also the faculty sponsor for ASME and the WT Rifle Club. He was named to the Bell Helicopter Professorship in Mechanical Engineering in 2013.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Jackson collaborates extensively with Dr. Emily Hunt and Pantex on Projects ranging from explosives testing to polymer mixing. He also serves as a consultant with several local and regional businesses and entities on engineering projects.
