The Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) student chapter at West Texas A&M University is hosting a Hispanic Heritage Month and Distinguished Lecture Series speaker, Mr. Miguel Palomares on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 6PM at the Alumni Banquet Facility. The title of his speech is "How to Snag a High-Paying Career at Some of the Most Distinguished Companies in the World." Co-sponsors of this event include F1RSTGEN, Hispanic Student Association, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. This event is FREE and open to anyone.

He is an outstanding speaker, author, and a career coach who migrated from Mexico. He has a wide range of experience in the Insurance Industry and with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He enjoys running, mentoring and spending time with his family. He serves as a career coach for business leaders in the Central Valley and a career mentor to students across the nation through his consulting company. As an aspiring "dreamer" and "first generation student" he obtained a B.S. from Brown University, Summer Management Program Certificate at Stanford University, and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.

He also authored two books: "Dream to Achieve: A Practical Guide to Pursue Your Goals, Dreams, and Aspirations" and "Investing in all Aspects of your Life" (in press). His books train first generation and Hispanic students to accomplish career goals to achieve career success, while dealing with substantial personal, economic, and social-cultural obstacles. Mr. Palomares has delivered notable talks for the Ivy League Project, Proven Achievement. Lifelong Advantage., Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Doctors Academy, Hispanic Central California Chamber of Commerce, and ALPFA.
