Professional Profile

Andrea Finchum just joined the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in Fall 2014. She received her B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Biology (cum laude) from the University of Oregon in 1990 and an M.B.A. from the University of Oregon in 1992.

Teaching and Related Service

Ms. Finchum teaches Principles of Marketing and Product Management.

Prior to coming to West Texas A&M University, she worked in private sector business roles for over 20 years in various sales, marketing, and accounting capacities. Her favorite positions involved building management systems and system implementation campaigns, in general. She has long recognized the value of good information in business and has a passion for reporting and for leveraging systems to maximize the availability of good business management information.

Research and Creative Activity

Ms. Finchum's research areas of interest include pedagogical and applied issues in marketing and management. Her research includes publications in the Journal of Marketing Development and Competitiveness, the Global Journal of Business Pedagogy, the Journal of Business Cases and Applications, and the Journal of Human Resource and Adult Learning.

Personal Sketch

Ms. Finchum lives in Amarillo. She and her husband enjoy traveling, cooking, music, gardening, and home design – and playing with their twelve grandchildren! She hopes in the next several years to finally learn to play the guitar and to pursue her interests in painting and quilting.
