Professional Profile

Dr. Bakir joined the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in 2015.  She has a B.S. from Northwest Missouri State University and an M.A. from Michigan State University.  She received her Ph.D. in Technology Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Bakir teaches courses in Computer Literacy, Introduction to Information Science, Management Information Systems, and Digital Media and Collaboration.  Her research includes publications in Tech Trends and Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education.

Research and Creative Activity

Dr. Bakir’s research interests include computer literacy, information systems, and technology integration to improve instruction in face-to-face and online teaching.
