Professional Profile
Dr. Hossain joined the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business at West Texas A&M University in 2020. He received his master’s and the Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Memphis, TN in 2014. He also received Applied Psychology (Cognitive Science), and Software Testing certificates from the University of Memphis, TN. He is a trained data science and machine learning instructor (trained from the Georgia Tech, and NVDIA Inc). He has received awards from Microsoft, the Department of Energy (DoE), and research grants from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Hossain teaches courses related to information systems design, information security, decision sciences, intelligent interaction, and mobile cloud computing in undergraduate and graduate levels. Courses frequently taught are information system analysis and design, artificial intelligence (AI), mobile cloud computing, and the application of neural networks. Dr. Hossain has extensive experience in mentoring and coaching students in intelligent systems design, AI failure analysis, cyber-security, and algorithm engineering applications in biomedical and health informatics. He has mentored several undergraduate and graduate students.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Hossain’s research interest includes artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cognitive & brain informatics, mobile assistive technologies, and cyber systems security. His peer-reviewed research articles published in several reputed journals (30) and conference proceedings (50). He is also the author of two IT books and several book chapters.
