Professional Profile
Babitzke joined the Department of Life, Earth and Environmental Sciences in 1993. He received his B.S. in wildlife management in 1988 from West Texas A&M University and a M.S. in wildlife management in 1992.
Teaching and Related Service
Babitzke teaches General Biology, Non-Majors Biology, Comparative Anatomy and Limnology. He has also taught Zoology, Animal Behavior and NSCI Biology for Elementary Teachers.
Babitzke is a member of Core Fellows, a group of faculty members that explore and apply new techniques to enhance the learning experience of the first-year college student.
Research and Creative Activity
Babitzke is interested in turtle ecology and ecology of freshwater systems. He conducts research on the Guadalupe River System of south Texas.
