Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith, a Psychology major from Amarillo, believes WT was a good choice for him because of the safe and welcoming environment. Since being at WT, Jordan has realized the small class sizes allow him to interact with classmates and get to know the professors on a personal level which enhances his learning.

Jordan chose Psychology as his major because he wanted to empathize and advocate for individuals who need help. Jordan landed an internship at Family Medical Center in Amarillo where he is gaining real life experience. The wonderful thing about internships is the ability to utilize the knowledge gained from the classroom in a real-world setting. Jordan can use evidence-based interventions and techniques to help people to the best of his ability. Jordan feels like his Psychology courses have prepared him for his next chapter in life: getting a doctorate and beginning his career.
