Zoe Skorodin

Master of Science – Communication Disorders

Zoe Skorodin, an Oklahoma native, knew she wanted to help children because of the sunshine they bring to the world. Zoe received her bachelor’s degree from another university in Oklahoma and after graduation, Zoe and her mother discussed different paths to make her dreams come true. One avenue that stuck was speech pathology. Zoe’s mother is her biggest influence because she is supportive and provides the best guidance.

During the application process, Zoe applied to West Texas A&M University and noticed the WT advisor was extremely helpful by responding quickly and welcoming questions. During the interview process, Zoe felt the faculty wanted to get to know her on a personal level; she felt pursued. Zoe has been in the program for two semesters and WT has supported her through available scholarships. In five years, Zoe sees herself graduating from WT and being a successful speech pathologist who helps children. When children have limited verbal output, they show emotions through action and behavior. Zoe looks forward to building relationships and helping these children communicate through speech.
