Breanna Gordo, an Amarillo native, is majoring in Business Finance. Breanna’s childhood dream job was to be an educator. Her passion for teaching came from watching children learn and grow. Breanna had an internship opportunity her senior year of high school, where she discovered her love for finance. While Breanna had always loved numbers, she enjoyed helping clients gain financial knowledge. Now, Breanna plans to become a financial analyst and help youth through this outlet.
Breanna transferred to West Texas A&M University from Amarillo College to finish up her higher education adventure. WT has supported Breanna through the Career EXPO and internship opportunities. The Career EXPO is an event where students can network with potential employers. In fact, she interviewed with a company and respectfully requested not to continue the interview process. Breanna’s best advice is to interview your potential employer and make sure your values align. Just because your degree is in one area, does not mean you have to stay in that field forever.
