Free COVID-19 testing and vaccines are available to faculty, staff, and students through Student Medical Services. 

Students, faculty and staff can contact Student Medical Services for an appointment, or walk into the clinic from 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.

WTAMU is approved to provide both the Moderna vaccine series and the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen single dose vaccine.  COVID-19 vaccine allocations are provided by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and are delivered directly to WTAMU Student Medical Services (SMS). SMS must adhere to all state requirements for administration and use of COVID-19 vaccines under the State of Texas Vaccination Plan including eligibility and reporting criteria.  For additional information on COVID-19 vaccines in Texas please visit the DSHS COVID-19 Vaccine information webpage.


Eligibility Criteria

Currently, everyone age 12 and older is now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Texas.


  • If you are pregnant you must provide written authorization from your doctor in order to be provided a COVID-19 vaccine
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Student Medical Services
  • If you received any vaccinations in the last 14 days, please do not register to receive a COVID-19 vaccine
  • If you received an infusion for COVID-19, please wait at least 90 days before obtaining a COVID-19 vaccine
  • If you are sick or had any signs or symptoms of illness, please wait at least 48 hours after signs and symptoms of any illness are gone before pursuing your COVID-19 vaccine
