Closure of WTAMU Facilities

April 1, 2020

Per Dr. Wendler’s March 30 letter, all University facilities — including Harrington Hall in the WTAMU Amarillo Center — will be closed from 5 p.m. April 1 through April 30 (per Governor Abbott) or until further notice. In order to continue essential on-campus functions, there are some facility exceptions.

Those exceptions are all residential halls, the dining hall, the Buff Stop in Cross Hall, Hastings Electronic Learning Center (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays), Mary Moody Nothern Hall (1 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays), Doc’s Meats in the Happy State Bank Agriculture Science Center (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Fridays only) and the University Post Office (east door access only, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday).

All Vice Presidents have identified and communicated to their on-campus essential operational employees. These employees will need their Buff Gold card to swipe into their permitted facilities. In the event an employee who has not been designated as an on-campus essential operational employee needs access to a closed University facility, permission must be granted by your direct supervisor and the Vice President of the division in which the employee works. Once the approval is obtained, we ask the employee call the University Police Department at 651-2300 to schedule an officer to let the employee into the facility.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter and wish you safety and the best health during this time.
