WT administrators are working nonstop to make decisions that affect every person at the University. Our goal is to make choices that are helpful, fair and judicious for everyone. We ask for patience and understanding as the information we receive changes quickly and can impact prior decisions and actions.

To report COVID-19 cases among WT students, faculty, and/or staff, potential exposure, or inquire about issues related to COVID-19 on WT's campus, please send an e-mail to: COVID19@wtamu.edu.

How You Can Help

A few easy things we can all do include:

  • Wear a mask
  • Wash your hands for 20 seconds
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Avoid shaking hands
  • Disinfect frequently touched objects using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe
  • Stay home when you are sick and avoid close contact with those who are sick
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

Recent Trends

There were 86 confirmed cases for the week of 11/16/2020 – 11/22/2020

Below is breakdown of the cases reported for the week of 11/16/2020 – 11/22/2020

  • 79 individuals are WTAMU students
    • 17 students were attending courses online via remote access
    • 62 students were attending courses on campus
  • 7 individuals are WTAMU employees

There were 129 confirmed cases for the week of 11/09/2020 – 11/15/2020

Below is breakdown of the cases reported for the week of 11/09/2020 – 11/15/2020

  • 108 individuals are WTAMU students
    • 11 students are attending courses online via remote access
    • 96 students are attending courses on campus
    • 1 individual is not currently enrolled in courses at WTAMU
  • 21 individuals are WTAMU employees

 

Long Term Data

There have been 748 total confirmed cases among WTAMU students and employees since March 1, 2020

Of the 748 total confirmed cases among WTAMU students and employees,

  • 106 cases are active
  • 642 cases have recovered
    • 133 cases recovered last week (11/16/2020 – 11/22/2020)

Below is the breakdown of the cases reported beginning March 1, 2020 through November 22, 2020

  • 656 individuals are WTAMU students
    • 88 students were attending courses via remote access
    • 16 students were not actively enrolled in courses but reported positive tests (Summer Semesters)
    • 552 students were attending courses on campus
  • 92 individuals are WTAMU employees

 

WTAMU COVID-19 Testing

WTAMU offers COVID-19 testing for students, faculty, and staff through Student Medical Services or through the Athletics Program. 

Since 07/24/2020, WTAMU conducted 4,184 COVID-19 tests with a positivity rate of 10.25%.
