'I have a dream" reenactment

The Office for Diversity and Inclusion presents a reenactment of the March on Washington and Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech. Julian Reese will portray Dr. King. The event will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 in the Vaughan Pedestrian Mall by the Buffalo Fountain. Face coverings and social distancing required.

We are one! Neal Suite Celebration

Join the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, International Student Services, and the Office of Experiential Learning and Campus to Community in celebrating the first birthday of the Nathaniel and Helen Neal Multicultural Suite. There will be a come-and-go celebration from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 in the Suite, which is located in the JBK across from the Post Office. Stop by for treats, shirts and prizes! A student panel of WT McNair Scholars will present Embracing His Legacy to Create Our Own from 12:30-1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 in the Student Chamber Room of the JBK. Face coverings and social distancing are required. The students will discuss their experiences with the McNair Scholars program, which is designed to prepare undergraduate students for doctoral studies through research involvement. The program is named for Dr. Ronald Erwin McNair, who was part of NASA's space shuttle program.

Dr. Nancy Garcia presents Diversity in Journalism from 12:30-1:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in the Student Chamber Room of the JBK. Face coverings and social distancing are required. Dr. Nancy Garcia will discuss diversity in journalism. She is an assistant professor of media communication and faculty advisor for The Prairie, the University’s student news organization.
