Diverse Student Organizations

21st Century Buffs - The purpose for which the 21st Century Buffs has been formed is to establish a community within the online student population of West Texas A&M University and build a network with others who share a common interest.

Accelerate @ WT - Weekly Bible Study & Fellowship with like minded believers in Christ.

African Student Organization - ASO aims to educate people about Africa, fight against misconceptions and create a community in which everyone feels welcome. To help promote closer ties, unity and understanding among African students and non-African students interested in Africa and its culture. To reach or goals, we implement programs and hold educational, professional, and fun activities throughout the academic year.


Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity - Alpha Phi Alpha was the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American Men. The fraternal leadership has identified three critical areas defining how we dedicate our time and resources. These enable us to leverage capacity across various audiences. These areas are special initiatives, national programs and Alpha foundations.

Asian and Pacific Islander Association - APIA’s objective is to educate the panhandle community about Asian culture and be inclusive to all those identifying as an Asian or a Pacific Islander. We hope to unite the Asian and Pacific Islander community through celebration of cultural holidays, collaboration events and more. The goal is to have a welcoming, all-inclusive environment for students of the Asian ethnicity and others to join. 

Association of Latino Professionals for America - A student chapter at West Texas A&M that enhances the business, professional, and career-related opportunities of undergraduate and graduate students who seek careers in business related fields by developing their business leadership skills. We seek networking connections with other Hispanic/Latino professionals and potential employers in the areas of business, accounting, finance, computer information systems, marketing, management, communications, economics, healthcare, and other relevant fields.

Baptist Student Ministry - The BSM is a Christ-centered Gospel-sent community, focused on GROWING in Christ-likeness through discipleship and careful study of God's Word, as well as going locally and globally to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, seeking to glorify Him always.


Bilingual Education Student Organization - This organization is open to all education majors. It is geared toward bilingual and ESL education in the public school system and spreading support and knowledge to all students. BESO is wonderful for networking with other future educators while learning about your future careers and having service learning opportunities. BESO is a great avenue for getting involved in extracurricular activity that will benefit you as a student, person, and future teacher. 


Black Student Union - The purpose of the Black Student Union shall be to: (1) aid the growth and development of West Texas A&M collegiate students through culturally, socially, and academically focused programming, (2) provide community service, campus involvement, and professional development opportunities, and (3) develop and promote unity within the minority community and intensify the black voice here at this university.

Black Women's Association WT - The Black Women's Association exists to further a sense of empowerment and limitless opportunity for women of the future. This sisterhood is in place to advocate on behalf of Black women and girls to promote leadership development.

Buffalo Democrats Club - Student organization for the Democratic party.

Buffs for Change - This organization strives to encourage environmental sustainability, recycling, reusable products, and environmentally friendly behaviors. They accept people from all backgrounds who share a common love for our planet. 

Buffs for Christ - Buffs for Christ is an organization of students who make up a campus ministry which seeks to serve the students of West Texas A&M University. It is overseen by the University Church of Christ, and located west of the Panhandle Plains Museum. We exist to share the gospel of Jesus to the campus, bring Christian students into a closer relationship with God, and create a loving, dynamic fellowship with other Christians.


Catholic Student Center - A catholic student center in west Texas a&m university to help students build friendships, along with strengthen their faith with these friends or alone. A home away from home. 

Club Cornette - The purpose of Club Cornette is to contribute to the Cornette Library. This is accomplished by: encouraging student use at the library and its collections; gaining feedback from students regarding the library; supporting the library staff in their work; and participating in library events.Library Student Organization is an outgoing organization and welcomes all students to join.

College Life at Hillside Christian Church - The purpose is to bring together students at West Texas A&M and help them grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually during their 4-5 years on campus. The organization does this through multiple nights of worship and groups that meet weekly where students can interact with their peers and grow closer to God.

Delight Ministries - The heart of Delight Ministries is to provide an environment for women to vulnerably share about how Christ has been at work in their lives. Our curriculum is made of stories from college women sharing about the ups and downs of their faith journeys. We've heard stories of depression, loneliness, heartbreak, identity crisis and pain, but the common theme throughout them all is that even still, God is good. 


Diversity Ambassadors - Diversity Ambassadors are change agents at West Texas A&M University, dedicated to serving and representing the Office for Diversity and Inclusion. Ambassadors assist in developing diversity program initiatives, as well as being liaisons to various university committees and student organizations.

Enactus - Enactus is an international organization that connects student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities. Guided by academic advisors and business experts, the student leaders of Enactus create and implement entrepreneurial projects around the globe. The experience helps students develop the kind of talent and perspective that are essential to leadership in an ever-more complicated and challenging world.

Engineers Without Borders - EWB-USA's commitment to partnering communities is founded upon the premise that community-driven projects result in long-lasting and sustainable infrastructure solutions. Throughout this partnership, we bring together volunteers and community members of all backgrounds and experience levels together to promote educational and leadership opportunities not typically provided in traditional academic settings.

Every Square Inch - Every Square Inch equip students with a Christian worldview so that they can engage every square inch of their lives and culture around them with Biblical truth.


F1RST Gen Student Organization - F1RSTGEN has set a series of goals for the organization: To build a strong and active organization for students; To bring awareness concerning the value and diversity first-generation college students add to the campus culture and in the community; Promote a positive interaction of the members with the community; To create an environment of unity and support that facilitates individual and group goals.


Hispanic Student Association - The purpose of the Hispanic Student Association of WTAMU is to promote higher education and Hispanic awareness throughout the university and community at large.

Kappa Kappa Psi - The backbone of the band at West Texas A&M, and a chapter we have received awards on the district level and are striving to have on chapter noticed on the national level. We strive for our band program to run smoothly and reach our highest of goals.

Lutheran Campus Ministry - A Christian organization that has a purpose to encourage, facilitate, worship, study, witness and fellowship in the Lutheran faith.

Mu Phi Epsilon - Development of a bond of friendship among its members. The aim is the advancement of music in the community, nation, and world through promotion of musicianship, scholarship, therapy, and education, with an emphasis on service through music.

Music Therapy Organization - To serve the community, provide educational opportunities for students and to advocate for the music therapy profession.

Omega Delta Phi Fraternity - Omega Delta Phi focuses on what we are becoming. The men of Omega Delta Phi are founded on the concept that in order to truly grow as an individual, one must experience views in which can challenge preconceived perceptions to foster growth and enlightenment. “One Culture, Any Race.” A challenge to the closed minded to look beyond what they believe to be true and realize the truth is largely dependent on one’s perspective. “One Culture, Any Race.” A philosophy that suggests the coexistence of various races can be a win-win situation if we are willing to learn from one another. “One Culture, Any Race” is an ideal for new millennium and a new fraternity.

Redeemer College Mission - All basic law in the organization is centered on the principles of Christian discipleship. We endeavor to create an organization that will provide a safe place to explore Christian theology, worship, and community for committed, college-aged Christians and questioning neighbors alike by meeting on campus, in the community, and at Redeemer Christian Church.


Restoration Apostolic Ministries - The RAM-WT A&M Student Outreach organization is a student lead outreach ministry that is Christian based. RAM-Buffs operates under the supervision of Pastor's Todd M. and Stina M. Hunt who are both WTAMU alumni. The RAM ministries focuses on spiritual growth and development for young adults of all diversities on and off campus.

Rotaract Club of WTAMU - University organization affiliated with Rotary International for service and leadership.  The purpose is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for personal development, friendship, and social awareness locally and worldwide. 


Spectrum WT - The West Texas A&M's student-led LGBT+ organization. Our purpose is to foster diversity, equality and awareness through education and community!

Student Social Work Association - The SSWA is an organization for social science majors. The club provides students with the opportunity to connect, network, volunteer, and serve as a community. The SSWA helps students become actively involved in the community, thus preparing them for their future careers.

The SSWA mottos are:

1. Social work is the art of listening and the science of hope;

2. Promote social justice through awareness and community service

3. Develop students as professional social workers


Tau Beta Sigma - The National Honorary Sorority for members of the college band.

The Darlings of West Texas - We are a social organization that embraces the ideals of Molly Goodnight and her work with education and buffalo. Our organization strives to further her works through community service, education, leadership and positive public image for West Texas A&M University. We like to embody her ideals of independence, hard work, and determination. We are looking for WT students who want to give back to our community. 

Transfer Outreach Program - Run by the Transfer Ambassadors, this organization works with Transfer Services to provide a student-driven approach in helping transfer students feel at home at West Texas A&M. We are founded on 3 pillars of Support, Networking, and Resource Promotion. Transfer students are a unique and diverse population, and we want to give those students the tools they need to continue to be successful, from social involvement to academic support, and ultimately to graduation.


Vietnamese Student Association - Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) strives to promote the awareness, interest, and appreciation of the Vietnamese culture throughout the West Texas A&M University campus and local communities. Their primary goals are to assist Vietnamese freshmen at WT and to hold Vietnamese culture-oriented events. VSA welcomes individuals with interest in the Vietnamese culture from all cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds.

Wesley Foundation - The WT Wesley Foundation is a community of students with the focus of loving God and loving others.

West Texas A&M Fellowship of Christian Athletes - A mission to lead coaches and athletes into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

West Texas A&M Model United Nations - WTMUN is a student organization that hosts and attends conferences in which they simulate the workings of the United Nations. They pursue new perspectives and tackle global problems, delivering them in a creative and interactive way.

West Texas Young Life - Young Life is an outreach ministry focused on building relationships and introducing teenagers to Jesus Christ. Through adventure, humor and fun, Young Life works to create memorable experiences and long-lasting relationships.

Women of Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics  - WECSM hosts social events and guest speakers to foster women’s inclusion in the Engineering, Computer Science.

WTAUMU Art Club - WTAMU Art Club is dedicated to bringing students interested in art together and giving them the opportunity to learn how to participate in a professional art-based organization. We do a lot of fundraising, art shows, and travel.

WTAMU Veterans Network - An organization to support military veterans and families while attending WTAMU. Our mission is to network, serve, and foster support of the student veterans at West Texas A&M University.

Young Conservatives of Texas at West Texas A&M - Young Conservatives of Texas at West Texas A&M (YCT at WTU) is a bipartisan grassroots organization that approaches politics from conservative ideology. As our website states, "YCT and its members participate in the entire spectrum of Texas politics, attempting to shape the policies of the state of Texas through a number of means including educating students and the public, advocating conservative fiscal and social policies, campus activism, campaigning for political candidates, and rating the Texas legislature."
