Friday
July 22, 2011 The second Friday of camp is the day for the final concerts. I was in the Branding Iron Theatre for five of the eight bands. This is Mr. Zorn with the junior high school concert band. And their audience. (There were a lot of people at the concerts. The parking lots were full. It was a great turnout.) Next was the junior high school symphonic band with Mr. Sayger. The junior high school honor band. High school white band. High school maroon band. Meanwhile in Northen Recital hall, the three high school bands were performing. I think this is the high school concert band. The next pictures are of the high school symphonic band and Mr. Vaughn in their warm-up in N-1010. Mr. Sheffield and Mr. Collins, directors of the high school concert band, and some of the students. Dr. Teweleit with some campers. These next pictures might be the honor band. Because that looks like Mr. Lefevre. Amanda was the soloist with the honor band the second week of camp. After the concerts. Yep, it takes about two weeks at camp to grow a mustache. Friends. Deserted halls. Waiting for flights home. And the campers will sleep all the way home. That's how we know we've done our job. Look at the mood balloon. How are you feeling today, mood balloon? "I'm really blue. All my camper friends have gone." Don't talk, mood balloon. Save your strength. Rest for now. They'll be back next year. |
