FARM FOREMAN – JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Skills/Experience:
Mechanically inclined
Experience w/ various farm implements
Ability to organize daily operation w/ minimal supervision
Bilingual a plus
Possess or have ability to obtain Class A CDL

 

JOB EXPECTATIONS

 

Turf Fields:
Responsible for supervision of harvest crew.
Ensure that harvested sod meets company quality standards.
Must be ABLE & willing to operate all harvest equipment & irrigation.
Responsible for harvest accuracy & efficiency by ensuring proper amount of sod is harvested & loaded on trucks based on communication w/ the office.
In a team atmosphere help make appropriate planting and harvesting decisions based on equipment, current field & weather conditions and pasture schedules.

 

Pasture Ground:
Communicate w/ owner & manager as to planting & haying schedules & coordinate w/ sod needs based on equipment and current field & weather conditions.
Must be able & willing to operate all farm/hay equipment & irrigation.
Ensure that adequate hay product and/or forage is produced.

 

General:
Trouble shoot equipment problems & communicates w/ mechanic.
May perform maintenance & light repairs.
Must be able to work w/ minimal supervision, organize & implement daily schedules and maintain appropriate records.
Be able to communicate effectively w/ owners, manager, mechanic & other employees as needed.
