Greek Life

Greek Life

Fraternity and Sorority Life is just one part of a balanced undergraduate experience. The Sorority and Fraternity Community is one of friendship, scholarship, leadership, community engagement through direct service and philanthropic endeavor, and siblinghood. The fraternity or sorority experience provides unlimited support, encouragement, and motivation to maximize students' full potential and create a sense of home within the small campus community

What is a Fraternity or a sorority?

A fraternity or sorority is a group of men or women formed by a brotherhood or sisterhood and common goals ans aspirations who make a commitment to each other for life. The members that form a fraternity or sorority share their efforts, friendship, and knowledge. Together these members learn, grow and make the fraternity or sorority, commonly called a Greek organization, stronger. Their common experience builds ties that last a lifetime.

Why go Greek?

Friendships

Joining a fraternity or sorority at WT will give you a home away from home. As a member of a Greek organization, you will from meaningful connections and lifelong friendships with a diverse group of students who all share a common set of values and ideals.

Leadership Opportunities

Fraternities an sororities are learning laboratories that give students the opportunity to learn, test, and grow as they develop as individuals and as leaders. As student-run organizations, fraternities and sororities elect members to serve in positions ranging from Recruitment Chair to President.

Giving Back to the Community

Every Fraternity and sorority believes in making a difference in the world, and members of the WT Greek community never stop giving back. Greek organizations at WT host their own community service and philanthropic activities as well as participating in Greek Week, Relay for Life, University Sing, other major campus service events, devoting countless hours and millions of dollars to causes greater than themselves.

Scholarship

All members of fraternities and sororities share one commonality: they are students first. Greek organizations at WT consistently rank at or about the undergraduate grade point average, and many chapters create programming geared at improving scholastic performance of its members.
