Conner Hall Staff
Hometown: Austin, Texas
Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in progress from West Texas A&M University (anticipated May 2016)
What I Love About WT: I love that WT is so friendly. It really is my home away from home. The professors are really invested in the students.
Why I'm Excited to be a Coordinator: I'm excited to give back to WT, because this University has saved me in so many ways. I'm blessed to be able to work in a department that is so invested in making the college student experience so memorable.
Unit/Hall: Conner Hall, Men's Wing
Hometown: Levelland, Texas
Major: Mechanical Engineering & Mathematics, with an emphasis on Environmental Engineering
What I Love About WT: I love how WT is in a small town and has that small town feel. Coming from a smaller town, it just feels right to come home to a safe, small town.
Why I Love Living On Campus: Living on campus provides me with a home close to class and a group of people to live with that I can honestly call my family away from my family. Without this in my life, I don't believe I would be the same person I am today.
Why I'm Excited to be an RA: I have been inspired by my RAs when I was a freshmen to be the best RA possible. I love inspiring others, as well as building strong community within small groups such as my hall. I would do anything for my residents and I couldn't imagine my life not being an RA in Conner Hall.
Unit/Hall: Conner Hall, Women's Wing
Hometown: Trophy Club, Texas
Major: Social Work
What I Love About WT: I love that WT is small enough that you recognize people around campus, but it is also big enough so that you see new people all the time! I love how laid-back the atmosphere is and how quiet it is on the weekends on campus. The teachers, professors, and staff at WT truly want Buffs to succeed and they do everything they can to support us in completing our college education.
Why I Love Living On Campus: I love living on campus because it is such a fun atmosphere! You get to know so many people and the people in your hall become your family. You get to participate in fun stuff that happens right down the hallway from you and you make friends on a level that you just wouldn't if you didn't live on campus. Studying with others that live in my hall motivates me to stay on top of my academics. Best of all, you can wake up 30 minutes before your class starts - no problem! You can also get anywhere on campus from your hall in about 10 minutes.
Why I'm Excited to be an RA: I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on my residents' college experience! I get to plan fun things for my hall to do, make tons of new friends every year, and create an environment where people can feel at home. Knowing that I made a resident's year exciting, fun, and comfortable is the best thing about being an RA.
