Who's Eligible

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• a US citizen or permanent resident
• undergraduate student majoring in biology, environmental science, or related field
• sophomore standing with a GPA of 3.0 in all science courses completed (special consideration if science GPA < 3.0 but improvement indicated)
• 8 hours in biology and lab coursework and an additional 4 hours in related science coursework completed or equivalent laboratory and/or field experiences
• intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm, and commitment as revealed by application essay

Note: Special consideration will be give to applicants from institutions with limited research opportunities
