ally, these sessions will provide you with all the necessary nuts-and-bolts information that you will need to know. By attending these sessions, not only will you feel better about your choice in WTAMU for your student's education, but you will gain a sense of Buff Pride.

We strongly encourage you to attend the family sessions, although it is not required of you. (Please note that it is mandatory that your student attend all sessions at orientation in order to register for classes.)

Spanish speaking family sessions will be available at the June 28-29 New Student Orientation.

Las sesiones familiares en español estarán disponibles el 28-29 de junio.

Please indicate the number of family members per student when registering for NSO. Orientation offers family sessions that run concurrently with student sessions. There will be time in the afternoon of Day Two that you can spend with your student in a specific rotation schedule taking care of all the necessary things to prepare for the spring semester, such as advising and registration, obtaining a Buff Gold Card (student ID), speaking to Financial Aid, Business Office, and Career Services, etc.

Prior to orientation, your student needs to turn in all documentation and have all testing done. For more information on things your student needs to complete before attending an orientation, see the Next Steps tab.

Family Lodging Options

Family rooms are available in Buff Hall for our family members that choose to attend NSO for a small fee.  The price is $40 per room for the entire stay of the NSO (Wednesday evening through Friday morning); no Friday night stays are available.  Check-in occurs in the evenings of Wednesday and Thursday at Buff Hall.  Guests must bring their own pillows, linens, and towels.

Reservations can be made on Residential Living’s NSO Guest Housing form; please submit your request as early as possible, but at least 72 hours prior to your arrival date.  Available lodging is limited and the Office of Residential Living will email reservation confirmations once they are able to determine room availability.  You may also check out additional lodging options in the Canyon/Amarillo area.
