WTAMU to Host MonarchTeacher Network Workshop

CANYON, Texas—The Department of Education at West Texas A&M University will present the Monarch Teacher Network workshop, “Teaching and Learning with Monarch Butterflies,” from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. June 15-16.

The workshop combines classroom and field experiences with the story of migrating monarchs to teach pre-K through 12th grade teachers essential skills in literacy, math, science, geography, technology, Spanish, social studies and the arts.
Those attending the workshop will learn how to raise monarchs in their own classrooms to share with their own students.

Participants also will receive rearing cages, books, posters, DVDs as well as information on butterfly gardens and “Monarch Parades” and activities for Spanish language.
