Priority registration. Priority registration for currently enrolled students is under way at West Texas A&M University. The early registration period offers students a chance to schedule classes for winter intersession and the 2010 spring semester. Priority registration is now open for graduate students, seniors, and sophomores. Freshmen can register on Nov. 16. Priority registration is open for all current and new students beginning Nov. 23. Blood Drive. West Texas A&M University, in conjunction with Coffee Memorial Blood Center, will sponsor a “Everyone Bleeds Maroon” Blood Drive from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Nov. 16-19 at the Jack B. Kelley Student Center Commons. All eligible donors will receive a maroon sweatshirt. A bloodmobile will be parked in front of the Dining Hall. Donors can drop by anytime at either location or make an appointment by calling 806-331-8800.

Premiere. “Through the Eyes of Africa,” a documentary about students by students, will premiere at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16 in Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall at West Texas A&M University. The 15-minute feature, shot by three WTAMU broadcasting students, shares the experiences of 13 WTAMU freshmen as they traveled to Lundazi, Zambia, in March 2009 as Readership WT Ambassadors. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 651-2931.

Carol of Lights. Thousands of lights will illuminate the West Texas A&M University campus when Dr. J. Patrick O’Brien, University president, flips the switch for the 19th annual Carol of Lights at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Pedestrian Mall. Music of the season will be provided by WTAMU musical groups. Members of the U.S. Marine Corps will be there for its annual Toys for Tots drive. Those attending are encouraged to bring a new toy (no toy guns), and Marine Corp members will collect the donations to make Christmas brighter for needy children.
