WTAMU Named to Affordable Colleges Online Rankings

CANYON, Texas—West Texas A&M University’s commitment to delivering high quality programs in a strong online environment has earned the University a spot on Affordable Colleges Online’s ranking of “Online Colleges in Texas that Win on Affordability.”

WTAMU is listed at 13 out of the more than 50 colleges and universities across the state ranked by Affordable Colleges Online (AC Online) for quality and cost. AC Online used data collected by various sources including NCES, IPEDS, Carnegie Classification and payscale.com to look at four-year, accredited online degree programs, both public and private, that offer reasonable price tags for students. The list, indexed from lowest tuition to highest, is designed to help students research the best online colleges in Texas and provides information about tuition and enrollment as well as links to the college or university ranked.

“West Texas A&M University has been a leader in online education for many years,” Dr. Wade Shaffer, provost and vice president for academic affairs, said. “Many of our online classes are part of degree programs that have attained the highest level of accreditation in their field. Students can be assured that they are receiving a quality education when they enroll in our online classes and programs.”

In July, AC Online identified WTAMU as one of 49 Texas colleges and universities with the greatest lifetime return on investment (ROI), and said University’s graduates enjoy the largest earnings gap between non-degree holders over 30 years and earn more on average than graduates from other Texas schools.
