A graduate art exhibition by West Texas A&M University graduate student Carol Born will open Sunday, March 21 in the Mary Moody Northen Hall, Formal Art Gallery. An opening reception is scheduled from 4-5:30 p.m. Born is a graduate student in studio art from Plainview. Her works will hang through April 2. Always WT, West Texas A&M University’s Centennial book, will be released Monday, March 22 with a special book signing party from 3-6 p.m. at Cornette Library on the WTAMU campus. A second book signing is set for 7-9 p.m. Saturday, March 27 at the library. Dr. Marty Kuhlman, associate professor of history, is the author of the 550-page book which covers WTAMU’s 100-year history. USAF Concert. The Department of Music at West Texas A&M University will host a performance by Gateway Brass, the brass ensemble from the United States Air Force Band of the West, at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 28 in the Sybil B. Harrington Fine Arts Complex, Recital Hall. Members of Gateway Brass bring many years of professional experience to the United States Air Force and performs for civilian and military audiences throughout the southwestern region of the United States with a repertoire spanning five centuries. The group travels more than 20,000 miles annually and appears in more than 100 concerts and clinics. They recently returned from a four-month deployment abroad the United States Navy Ship Comfort, contributing to the Continuing Promise 2009 mission. Continuing Promise is an annual humanitarian mission covering seven countries in 120 days while providing medical and dental care to countries in the Caribbean and Central and South America.
