American Sign Language II will meet from 6-9 p.m. each Monday Jan. 11-May 3. Traci Prather, an American Sign Language certified teacher at Canyon High School, will prepare students for basic communication with deaf individuals through finger spelling, vocabulary and basic sentence structure. Students can take the class non-credit or for University credit. Cost is $500, and enrollment is limited. The deadline to register is 5 p.m. Jan. 6. A Financial Workshop for Individual Investors will meet from 7-9:30 p.m. each Tuesday Jan. 12-Feb. 9. Dan Shuman, a state and national licensed financial adviser for a national brokerage firm, will cover a variety of topics during the four-week course including estate planning, tax deferred annuities, retirement accounts, certificates of deposit as well as mutual funds and numerous bonds. Cost is $35 for individuals or $55 for couples. The deadline to register is 5 p.m. Jan. 8.
