Make Plans Now for Centennial Homecoming 2010
Don’t forget to mark your calendars Oct. 4-9 for Centennial Homecoming 2010 at West Texas A&M University. It will be a fun-filled week with hundreds of things to see and do beginning with Maroon Madness on Monday, Oct. 4 and ending with gridiron action Saturday, Oct. 9 when the Buffs meet Tarleton State Saturday at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
The Homecoming Classic Golf Tournament, Pigskin Revue, Lighting of the Bonfire and Homecoming concert featuring Quietdrive are just a few of the many traditional activities planned for Centennial Homecoming 2010. Plus, the University’s Alumni Association will host various alumni reunions and events including a Pub Crawl on Oct. 5 in downtown Amarillo. And don’t forget the annual Homecoming Parade beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 with floats, bands, cheerleaders and more.
Homecoming week also offers the WTAMU’s theatre presentation of A Doll’s House at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6-9 in the Branding Iron Theatre. The annual Freshman Convocation is at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 with guest speaker Somaly Mam, author of the 2010-2011 common reader The Road of Lost Innocence. And the list goes on and on—Lady Buff volleyball, a cookbook release party, alumni gatherings and reunions, dedications, an induction ceremony, Fair on the Square, tailgate food and more.
