WTAMU to Host Buff-A-Rama for Area Youth

All kids, especially little kids, are invited to Buff-A-Rama 2009, a free block party and safety fair at West Texas A&M University.

Buff-A-Rama 2009 is from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Pedestrian Mall on the WTAMU campus. Activities are primarily directed at kids 12 and under, but everyone is welcome regardless of age, and everything is free.

Kids and their parents are invited to stop by for a few hours of fun and games with lots to see and do. There will be interactive exhibits to learn about bicycle and water safety, martial arts, the military and police and fire safety. Free hot dogs, drinks and ice cream will be available, along with car seat safety checks, giveaways and door prizes. Plus, every kid will receive a free backpack.

“This is an event designed to inform kids about safety issues in a fun environment,” Chance Haugen, assistant director of the Jack B. Kelley Student Center and event organizer, said. “We’ll have live entertainment, free food and all sorts of fun activities for children. It will be a great time for everyone, and it’s all free.”
